In "Broken" I challenged myself to play broken rhythms. The first section develops using some patterns in 5/8 interspersed with some regular 3/4 bars. It may look strange on paper, but it's not that hard to play and I find this study particularly satisfying. As usual in most of the pieces in this book, one needs to keep melody and accompaniment separated by applying different dynamics. The second section is written in 3/4, though a couple of bars are broken (!) in four equal notes. I find this section extremely whistleable.
